2 Things You Can Do To Get Rid Of Ants

No one wants to walk into their bathroom in the middle of the night just to see a steady stream of ants walking around the sink. If you do have ants, you probably want to know what you can do to get rid of them. There are several things that you can do that will help you get rid of them and hopefully keep them from coming back.

Call an Exterminator

One of the things that you can do is to call an exterminator to have them come out to your house. The exterminator will come out to your house and investigate your situation. The exterminator will hopefully be able to help you pinpoint the places that the ants may be coming into your house or at least show you what is making your house more attractive to the ants. When they are at your house, they will also be able to do things like place baits. The baits will attract the ants to it, and they will eat it and take it back to the nest. When the ants take it back to their nest, the ants that weren't exposed to the bait at first will encounter it, thus poisoning ants that haven't even been anywhere near your house.

Use Vinegar

Ants depend on special scent trails. As they are walking around looking for food, they lay special trails down. That will let the ant get back to their nest with the food and it will allow other ants to follow that trail so that they can get food for the nest and bring it back. One way to keep that from happening is to get rid of the scent trail. You can do that by using a vinegar/water mixture and spraying down the area where you have been seeing the ants. You can spray down the entire area and then just wipe it up. That will eradicate the scent trail to and from the food, as well as make sure that any scent trails that you may not know about are also wiped out. Vinegar is non-toxic, so you don't have to worry about using it around your kitchen or in places where your children or pets might interact with it.

If you have seen ants in your house, you want to get rid of them as quickly as possible. There are a number of things that you can do that will help you with that. Reach out to an ant control professional for more information.
