Seen A Cockroach In Your Home? Tips To Get Them Out

If you have seen one roach in your home, you likely have more than this. It is important that you take care of this problem as roaches will multiply quickly, which can make it more difficult to get rid of them. Keep reading on things you can do to get them out of your home.

Use Sprays

There are sprays that you can purchase to kill roaches. These sprays generally come in a large jug with a sprayer attached to it. You spray the insecticide where you see roaches. You can find this spray at home improvement stores.

Make sure you know how to properly use the sprayer and wear a protective face covering so you do not become injured. The spray you choose should come with complete instructions.

Other Options

If you do not want to spray an insecticide there are glue strips that you can purchase. Place the strips in areas where you see roaches. If the roach stops on the strip, it will then become stuck and die. Place strips under and behind the stove and refrigerator, under your sink, and in other areas. Keep an eye on these strips as they may become filled up with dead roaches quickly if you have a lot of these insects in your home.

Bait stations also work well. These stations are a long tube with poison inside. The poison will taste good to roaches. When they eat it, they will take the poison back to their nest and give it to other roaches who will then die.

Contact a Pest Control Company

The best thing you can do is to hire a pest control company. They can determine the type of cockroaches you have and then take steps to get them out. If they find your home is infested with them, the pest control company will spray your home and will likely suggest they come back a second or third time to spray to ensure they are all gone.

The pest control company may also use a wet/dry vacuum to suck up cockroaches from areas that are hard to spray. They will seal any openings or holes with caulk or a mesh to prevent the insects from getting in. The contractor will inspect all areas of your home to determine how the insects are getting in.

Keep cockroaches away by sweeping your kitchen floor each night and making sure there are food crumbs on the countertops. Remove any water source, such as repair leaky faucets, remove dog water bowls at night, etc.

For more information, contact a pest control company near you.
